Blood tests are improving! Mood
Tuesday, November 3, 2009 | A General Update story

My endo runs a blood test on me every month, and for the past few months things were stable but not better.  Unfortunately the results in late September had actually worsened, and my symptoms had changed for the worse, despite the ongoing natruopathic meds and acupuncture treatments.  I finally gave in and started taking Methimizole at a low dose - 5 mg. per day.  That was almost 4 weeks ago...  My endo ran a blood test on me last week, and miraculously my T3 and T4 are both in the normal range.  My TSH is still off, but she said it is moving in the right direction.  She thinks I'm going into remission... I'm so excited!  The only bad news is that I seem to be allergic to Methimizole, as I have been having very itchy hives all over for the past few days.  My endo told me to stop taking it daily and reduce to every 3rd day to see if the hives go away.  Hopefully that will work and I will keep going in the right direction.
