    • About Me

I'm an artist, video editor and filmmaker. I'm also a recovering drug addict and anorexic. I have 2 wonderful kids. I'm learning how to be present and sit still. I'm trying to find my spirituality and higher power within myself and within nature. A huge part of my spirituality is my veganism and I believe in treating all beings with respect and compassion. I truly believe in karma.

Hunnie its all addictive naltrexone is same thing dr tell you all kinda bs you gotta do the research and yes I had to sign a form saying I knew it was addictive the day I started and I started with suboxone but didn't like side effects of narcan but if you look It all up naltrexone, suboxone , subutex, its all on same page bassically same just little differences but what ever works for you the good thing is that the less of it you take the better you feel if you take more trying to get hiGh you just feel like poo its not good I started at 20mg I came down to 3 or 4. But I find I just feel better at 6mg give or take they all fill and block receptors the stuff with narcan/nalaxone just completely dump and block mine does partially stimulate one receptor but blocks the other so you just feel normal but I do worry long term it hasn't caused problems in Canada or the UK in 25 years but using something with nalaxone if you were to try to use and od with it in your system they can't use it to save you it won't work it has its dangers I just can't stand the way it makes me feel but don't let them fool you everything is addictive this stuff just has a 30hr half life

    • Close Prescription Drug Abuse

I was addicted to prescription painkillers & benzos for a long time. When I didn't have pills-- I'd drink alcohol. I would also take pills and drink. I made friends with a doctor who gave anything I wanted. With the help of friends, family, professionals and AA/NA I haven't used in 8 months. I'm currently tapering off of a benzo that was prescribed for me for anxiety and insomnia. I need to be off of any addictive medications and stay away from alcohol to have a clear head and to be at peace.

      Treatments

      AA Meetings Working / Worked
Even though my drugs of choice were narcotic painkillers I have found AA to be a very strong and supportive group. I mostly attend AA meetings and I've met a lot of other addicts who go to AA and not NA. They say a drug is a drug is a drug.
      Cold Turkey Working / Worked
I had the shakes, pounding headache, nausea, digestive issues, body aches and insomnia. But I got through it all in about a week. I had the support of family, friends, my doc and therapist and my/NA AA friends. The headaches persisted for about 60 days but they weren't terrible after the first week. The insomnia lasted for a bout 2 months also but now I'm sleeping fine.
      Naltrexone Somewhat Helpful
Trying it for a second time. My doc won't prescribe Suboxone but says Naltrexone works just as well without the chance of addiction.
Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Working / Worked
I find that NA/ AA are key to being successful with staying clean. The people I've met are amazing and I have a sponsor who was an opiate addict also- so we relate really well. I'm still trying to figure out my Higher Power, though!
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
Going to the gym 4 to 5 days a week helps a lot. Lifting weights, kickboxing, spinning and yoga.

      Type: Anorexia

I have had anorexia and it was made worse by prescription drug abuse. I haven't taken any pills in over 9 months and am still going to the gym.
