OMG, I just saw that you are also a recovering alcoholic. I just celebrated 4 years in April. Congradulations on your huge achievement of 10 years. you are in such a good place to be going through this cancer. I was able to apply the AA program to my cancer on a daily basis. It helped me more than you can imagine. What a blessing.

I hope it was not bad for you today. I love your attitude in your postings. Remember that you are powerless over cancer and you can give it to God and do your part.staying positive and smiling when ever possible seemed to help me alot.Attitude is 50% of this recovery. Every day when some new pain would come along i would remind myself that "this too shall pass" Best Wishes

Good luck tomorrow, I know you are having your first Chemo. When they give you the red stuff make sure you are chewing on ice, it helps to keep from getting mouth sores. You will do fine.

welcome to the board. I was diagnosed in November and just finished my last treatment. It was not as bad as I thought it would be OR I just dont remember...LOL Something I recommend that you have before you start is a mouthwash called Prevention. One of the chemo's causes mouth sores and it should prevent you from getting them. Just rinse when ever you feel a little stinging coming on. I did 4 rounds of R-chop and 17 radiation treatments and my life is starting to feel somewhat normal again. I was not sick from the radiation but twice but my body did hurt a lot like flu symptoms, but it's just a thing as will be over with soon. I was able to get up with my husband at 5am everyday and cook meals and for the most part keep house and take care of my 2 dogs, but it is exhausting. I did all my treatments at MD Anderson in Houston. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask..... BTW, the hair is usually gone after week three...but once again, nothing but a thing !
