I have and 18 year old adopted daughter, who I believe has mild FAS. She has none of the physical traits associated with FAS, but she was an extremely difficult baby. There was virtually no background info and there wasn't prenatal care. I was ignorant of FAS and FAE. It's only in the last 3 years that I learned of the symptoms. I haven't been able to get anymore information on my daughters' background but I think she is probably affected. She is treated for bipolar and the meds help somewhat. I'll turn 58 in July and I'm married to a very supportive man. He is not her adoptive father because my first husband died when Kailey was 4.

I love to read, cook, and my hobbies. I love to bead, embroider, quilt & applique. That said there's never much time due to the chaos in our home. I'm pretty much interested in everything except sports. I'm a recovering alcoholic and that also takes up time. I'm always learning more about living a day at a time and what I can control and what I can't. I also have faith and prayer helps a lot.

My adopted daughter is 18 and is officially diagnosed as bipolar. Two years ago I started investigating FAE & FAS. There is almost no background info on her and she got no prenatal care. I brought the idea up to her psychiatrist and he said that we've got a diagnosis & that the same meds were used for treatment.
