  Hello Auttielane, I'm 69 years old, and was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis 3 years ago. I have gradually gotten worse - on oxygen now at night, and with exertion during the day. I try to do without it during the day. My doctor told me most people live 3 to 5 years after diagnosis, but you just never know how fast or slow it will progress. I don't know anyone that has ever had PF, so I'm not sure what to expect in the future, but I;m sure it won't be pleasant. I am not afraid -- will just have to deal with it. I'm so sorry about your father. Sometimes I believe it hurts worse to see a loved one suffer than to suffer yourself. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. Wishing you blessings. PL
