Close Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
I am 24 years old, i started suffering from severe OCD and anxiety in August of 2008 causing me to have to withdraw from school after one month. I am now back in school and my OCD is flairing up again.. mainly obsessive thoughts not so much compulsions. I'm hoping to find other people with the same problems as mine and hopefully we can help each other...
Treatments
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Working / Worked
- Just started back in therapy and just after the first day I am already feeling better just knowing that I'm getting the tools and knowledge to deal with the OCD.
- Paxil Considering
- Dr. putting me on this once off of the Prozac... crossing my fingers it works!
- Prozac Not Working
- Dr. starting to take me off Prozac now, it caused me increase anxiety every morning... didn't help at all :(
- Zoloft Not Working
- Didn't work for me, made me feel more detached, no anxiety or OCD relief.
- Abilify Too Soon to Tell
- starting taking 5 mg per day per my Dr. said it would help keep my mood stable while Im coming off the Prozac
Open Panic Attacks
Treatments
- Xanax Working / Worked
- only side effect dry mouth and occasional headache
Open Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
I'm not sure if I have this, but I was told by my Psychiatrist that it may be possible considering a lot of my OCD obsessions revolve around school since that is where it all started, and now that I'm going back the OCD has gotten worse... I just can't stop thinking about it, it has changed my life and threw me into such a depression I couldn't imagine life getting any better. All I can do is pray...

- Reading Working / Worked
- Reading always calms me down. I forget my problems and get so into the books I'm reading it helps to stop my recurring thoughts... at least until I'm done reading :(
