I'm a mom of 2, my youngest has General Anxiety Disorder as well as a tic disorder (most likely Tourette's). I'm looking for support for these for myself and for my daughter and look forward to saying hi.

I'm at work so I can't really write much now, but I read your post, and You are a great mom, keep up the counseling, and the Dr. visits, and you will love this site for the support it provides. One day at a time, keep loving them and being observant, it is tiring but they are worth it. Hugs to you, happy (late) Mother's Day.

Close Anxiety Disorders in Children
My daughter, age 15, was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder about a year ago. We just recently changed counselors and I'm feeling much more positive about the new therapist we chose.
Treatments
- Celexa Somewhat Helpful
- Shes sensitive to medication dosages and reacted negatively to 20mg so her dr decreased it back to 10mg and it SEEMS to be working somewhat. At least its much better than when she was at the higher dose. She became extremely anxious and agitated at the higher dose.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Too Soon to Tell
- We just began working with a new counselor this time a Psychotherapist recommended by my dds psychiatrist. So far so good my dd seems comfortable with her at her first meeting which was this past week so well see how it goes. Cross the fingers toes and any other things that can be crossed.
Close Tourette Syndrome & Tic Disorders
My 15 yr old dd was diagnosed with a tic disorder about 6 months ago. Her doctor feels it most likely is Tourettes. She also has General Anxiety Disorder.
Treatments
- Tenex Somewhat Helpful
- My dd is currently on Tenex 12mg 3 times a day. The tics are much more severe though so her doctor is considering switching her to either Risperidal sp or Abilify. Hes currently consulting with a couple of other doctors about the Abilify first because of the newness of the medication.
Open Anxiety
My daughter has severe Generalized anxiety and I'm trying to find tips and such to help her out.
Treatments
- Celexa Not Working
- Her doctor has her on Celexa which isnt working but hes very resistant to changing her. Im working toward finding a new psychiatrist for her but its difficult to find one that is taking new patients at this time. Im currently kind of stuck.
Open Teen Anxiety
