    • About Me

I am a 29 year old woman with severe chronic pain. I'm married to a great guy and we have a 4.5 year old black labrador retriever who is our child (though I am hoping to add a human child to our family in the next year or two!). I'm a lawyer but am only able to work part-time from home because of my pain.

I love, love, love to read and enjoy spending time in bookstores and libraries. I like things make-up related (guilty pleasure), I love to paint (watercolor), bake, spend time with my family and friends, be outside, watch the sunset, sleep on the beach, and just relax at home with my husband and pup. I also have a blog about living with chronic pain and a newly implanted neurostimulator. Please come visit!

I just wanted to say that you sound like a very determined young lady. I know how hard that must have been to have went through law school with all that you have been through. You remind me of my daughter who was a dancer her sophmore year at college who suddenly got sick, to find out that she had a rare blood disease and had to give up dancing. But went back to school and is getting her teaching degree and is also teaching dance. With two young children under the age of 3. But she was affraid that if she didn't have children right away that she wouldn't be healthy enough later to have them. I try to help her as much as possible but I have had two back surgerys in the last two years and am in constant pain. And of course they say that everything looked ok but they went in the last time to look to see what could be wrong because all of my tests MRI,Cat scans,x-rays all looked fine. Found out that I had bone spurs that were pinching off the nerves in my back and they took out the hardware from my spinal fusion, cleaned out the bone spurs. But I am in more pain than ever. Now they want me to do the shots and do all of the other things that you have already done. You have to play thier games. I am on 7.5mgs of diovan and it just takes the edge off. I have taken nerotin also and it didn't help at all. My daughter is 28 and I hate it because I can't help her as much. I actually have both my grandbabies almost all week because it is my daughters schools dance recital this weekend and I am dragging and of course like you say you can't sleep because of the pain and they will be up early in the morning and I will probably only get a couple of hours of sleep. Anyway just wanted you to know that you are a very brave woman to have done what you have done in that much pain. I had to quit working after my surgery because of the pain. So I aplaude you for what you have done. Good luck, Moep59

Hi, I will definitely let you know after my appt. on the 28th..I went to my PCP ( nurse practitioner actually. She is very good... She recommended that I double up on the Tramadol that I am taking. instead of 50mg , take 100mg at a time up to 200mg a day..so I have done that..helps a bit as long as I dont do much. take care Michele
