About Me
I am 35 years old and have degenerative disc disease in my spine, I also have arthritis in other joints throughout my body. I have had arthritis since I was a child, I got tired of going to doctors and taking pain pills that left me feeling numb. I am originally from upper Minnesota, I moved to Needles for the warm sun and to be near my grandparents who just about raised me.

Going into the big city next week to get my hair cut and styled for the hot desert summer to come. It might even cheer me up some.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss hun. I was very close to my grandparents also so when they passed away it took me a long time to get through it. Just remember as long as you remember all the good times they will always be there to guide you in a time of need. Take care of yourself dear.

Close Degenerative Disc Disease
I'm 35 years old, diagnosed with degenerative disc disease over two years ago. I quit a great law career to move to the desert where the temperatures are warmer. I'm living off a nice size annuity, but hoping to find part time work in the law field.
Treatments
- Surgery Considering
- TENS Not Working
- The T.E.N.S. unit that I had was very bulky it had wires that ran to Tennessee and back. Very uncomfortable to wear with formal work attire and also very hard to sleep in. The patches that glue to your skin were extremely difficult to put on when you live alone and the connecting of the wires were a joke. Battery life was also very short and heaven forbid if you accidentally turned up the power by mistake!The entire episode was a nightmare!
Close Arthritis - Juvenile
I have had arthritis as long as I can remember. I remember most of it in both my knees the worst. There were often days I couldn't walk and stayed home from school in bed.
Treatments
- Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
- Doctors often prescribed pain pills for the pain, I didnt like the feeling of not having a clear mind and very rarely took them.
- Naproxen Not Working
- Ate up my stomach!
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI'm 35 years old, diagnosed with degenerative disc disease over two years ago. I quit a great law career to move to the desert. Sometimes the pain is so bad I get severely depressed. 35 and I have no life!

- Celexa Not Working
- Didn't work at all.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Not Working
- For me it was a joke.
- Effexor Not Working
- Made me sleep at the wrong times!
- Elavil Not Working
- I heard a lot of voices that weren't there!
- Paxil Not Working
- Did absolutely nothing.
- Prozac Not Working
- Was up to 60mgs. a day, only made me want to strangle my doctor!!
- Psychotherapy Not Working
- I suppose if you have the right therapist and enough money!
- Seroquel Not Working
- AHHHHH....PURE HELL
- Support from Friends & Family Not Working
- You've got to be kidding...no one in my family wanted to talk to a depressed person.
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- Same as Paxil...NOTHING
- Zoloft Not Working
- Went up to 200mgs. a day...NOTHING!

Type: Loss of a Partner/SpouseMy husband died almost three years ago to cancer. He was a brilliant man and a talented musician. I was devastated and wanted to die. I joined a different on line support group where I met a man there battling the same battle. He had lost his wife nine years earlier and still couldn’t get over it. Through his help and determination he saved my life. I lost touch with this man, without ever saying as much as thank you. I have been joining on line support groups in hopes of finding him.
