Thank You for your kind words...it is so hard with all the "could've, should've, and would've" thoughts that go round and round...but it helps to know that you have some of the same feelings. I had a cat for almost 19 years, and you'd think it would be easier to say goodbye to an old friend who had a happy & long life without any major health problems--but grief is greif and loss is loss--no matter how long we have them, or how they pass. Peace be with you. Thank You again.

I'm sorry about your kitty. I lost mine last week. It is hard.

I also understand the trials and tribulations of being a single mom.

Hang in there, it will get better on both fronts.

Sounds like my 16 year old son. All too common teen behavior these days. Iwould try to not take it so personally. you are his parent not his "friend" Greg

    • Close Empty Nests

While not an empty-nester yet I can see the day coming and I'm scared! I'm a single mother of two. I've been in a position where I've pretty much put everything on hold while raising the kids. While there's still what a lot of people probably think is plenty of time (one son is 16 and the other is 12)) my kids definitely don't need me the same way and it's time to get my life underway. Only thing is I haven't got a clue how to do that or even what I want to do.

Helps a lot but it's not the only answer for me.
    • Close Parenting Teenagers (12-18)

I'm the single mother of two boys, one 16 (in three weeks!) and the other 12. The 16-year-old has ADHD and medication that doesn't work. Anyone who has been there knows what that can look like. In general he's a delightful kid , next to no behavior problems, but school is a nightmare. Unfortunately I care about this a lot more than he does! Between that and the typical teenage stuff I could really use this group!

      Treatments

      Patience Not Working
It only works when I can maintain it!
    • Open Parents of Children with ADHD

I'm the single mother of two boys. The oldest is almost 16 and has ADHD. He's a terrific kid but school has been a major issue since the beginning and I'm awful tired of dealing with it!

    • Open Pet Bereavement

I just put my kitty to sleep and I'm and now I'm broken hearted.

    • Open Career Changes

Having to switch careers after about 20 years. Yikes!!! New technology in my industry has caused decreased workload. Been working at home and have to find outside work.
