Today, as a surprise, my husband had my daughter flown down to attend the yearly corgi picnic here in Los Angeles. I had no idea that he had this planned - it was in celebration of my last chemo.
My daughter attends college in Northern CA, and my husband paid full price for a last minute plane ticket so my daughter could spend the day with us and our 3 corgis. All in all, about 100 corgis attended this picnic. We saw a lot of our friends (both human and dogs). My daughter really owns our corgis - she showed them in conformation and agility and herding before leaving for college. She is studying to be a veterinarian.
Anyway, it was a total surprise to drive to the airport before going to the picnic - the whole family kept the secret from me. I kind of feel like it was set up like a "Make a Wish" trip. Am I that sick? I hope not . . .

Just got back from being away for the weekend. There was a Lingerie Shower for my niece in London, Ontario which is about 3.5 hours drive from here. Had a great time! Thought I would check in to see how you are doing since I havent been on for awhile. Sounds like a wonderful surprise!! I don't think your family did that because they think you're sick! I'm sure they just wanted to do something really nice for since you've been through radiation and two chemos and are a strong and wonderful wife and mom!!! You are a lucky lady!!

Hi! What an awesome surprise from your very loving and supportive family! You know even through the best of times, we always question...whatever! When I first "met" you, you were very encouraging...puting my anxieties at bay, telling me I was going to be okay...well you know what? You are going to be fine too and continuing sharing your experiences with newbies like me. Thank you for the pictures....they're great! You are and will continue to be an inspiration to many others who are on the same journey. You look wonderful!
