Welcome & thanks for the advice in the discussion posts. I'm glad you had a doctor who was on the ball and who diagnosed you early on but I'm sorry that you're struggling to get better control. I've always admired green eyes and you're beautiful, too! I'm glad that you've found us. Welcome! Rose

My eye doctor found something wrong during a routine exam. That lead to an MRI of my brain at the age of 17, in 1996. The MRI found the tumor on my pituitary gland. Which lead to more tests. I had transpenoidal surgery in 1997 just a few days after high school graduation. The surgery was not a cure for me, and I have been on medications since. I fear I may not be able to have children of my own...but my docs can't say for sure until I start trying. :O

      Treatments

      Octreotide Somewhat Helpful
I was on this three times a day after my surgery. Then they put me on the LAR. The LAR stopped being as effective.
      Parlodel Not Working
My doctor put me on this while I was on Sandostatin LAR. I tried it for a month but saw zero improvment on my levels. I passed out not sure if it was from adding this medication or from the combination. But I never felt worse than when I was on the combination of the two.
