Well, here I am journaling after nearly a month. Some things are better, some are worse, but mostly, things are just trodding along like an old plow horse, at the end of a long day.
Next week I get some time off. Not going anywhere this time, just working around the house. Sort of "Get everything ready for winter" even if WE'RE NOT. I'm going to try to keep in touch, but if not, don't worry, I'm fine.
After all, how much trouble can an old geekster get into with a broom & paint brush. OK, maybe you shouldn't answer that just yet. I'll let you know in a week. lol
The "List" starts out "Clean the Garage", so I may never even GET to the paint brush. It's only a week. C'mon. ...ring...ring...HELLO, yup,... yes ma'am.... OK, No problem.... Sure thing.... I'll take it down to FedEx first thing tomorrow.... yup....OK, thanks, Good Bye.
Looks like I'll be painting after all. Pelosi just called, wants her broom back. ;)
Besides, I can only go if I work twice as hard THIS week, & then Twice as hard the week I get back. Seems it takes Twice the work for TWO weeks, just to make up for being gone ONE week. What's up with THAT? Must be that Obama math again. HA!HA!
Oh well, time to get back to work. I got a vacation waiting in the wings....

Well here's another chapter in the saga that is my life.
Work is work, the more you do, the bigger the NEXT truckload they dump on you.
But, it keeps me focused & that's a good thing. Trying to get some vacation scheduled. Looks like a week in Oct & one around Christmas. No big plans, but a few small ones. Involves travel & restaurants, can't be ALL bad. ;-) Hard part will be focusing on NOT Focusing. Sort of Tech withdrawl. I've heard that it can result in geek-anemic. My neighbor was on vacation & had to go buy an iPod just for medicinal purposes.
I try to keep up on all my friends here in DS, but I just know a few have slipped by. So please be patient, I'll get back to you as soon as I remember. OK, maybe you shouldn't ought to wait on THAT to happen. lol. I try to stop in like this on my lunch break, but even then time is short & the phone likes to interrupt.
Thank you all so much, for just being here.

Watch out for that whole work thing, it can really get you down. My boss sent me here to help my anger. What a dork. Scary part is i been calmer since i been her. I'd hate for him to be right.
Good luck on your vacation.
This has been the wierdest summer so far, that I think I've seen in a lot of years. Where do I start, let me count the ways....
1. I found DS. This has been such a help - I can't begin to tell you. Thank you all, so much. The work & home & trying to balance the two, can make life unbarable at times, and without my friends here, it would have really gotten me down.
2. The work has been tremendous, both AT WORK and at home. Too much to do, & way too few hours and dollars to do it. So, some gets done, some waits in line. I'm just thankful I still have a job, and can support my family. Also, because I do have a job, I feel obligated to help out those that have lost theirs. I try to spend WHERE I can, donate WHAT I can, and help out WHEN I can. This makes the scheduling even tighter. ;-)
3. The weather. This has been the coolest summer ( and I mean that from a temperature standpoint ;-) that I can remember. We usually spend july sweltering in heat & humidity.
This year, we've yet to hit 90 degrees. Looks like tomorrow might be the first. Some mornings I wished I'd worn a jacket. But we're not complaining. Sunny & 75 is ALWAYS welcome. lol.
4. Digital TV. The geek in me knows it's a better technology, but as usual, everything in technology is a trade off. It's usually memory and speed, for size and dollars, etc. The new TV signals are sharper when you can get them, but the dish antenna must be focused more precisely. And storms have a much greater affect. But, we proceed. Soon, Dick Tracy's wrist communicator will be a 2" Fiber Optic TV. I can't WAIT!!!!!! HA!HA!HA!
Well, that's it for now. Thanks again for listening. See you all next week.

It is good to tally good things. I do it all the time to help me remember how far I have come and it is good to be thankful in general.
I am perfectly jealous about the weather though! It is hot hot hot hot hot here!
And it is so nice of you to help as much as you can. I wish I could help more.
Talk to you later.

Have fun on vacation? I know I am writing this after the fact but hey I am trying to catc up as much as possible before my sis shows up to take the computer.
Work hard. Clean hard. Paint hard. And try to do it all orderly or it will stress you out.
Take care. See you when you get back and of course when I can come back!
