Thank you for the hug. This is the only forum where i can be free to express what i really feel about the different things happening to my body..and have people who understand. Lupus is a lonely disease in Kenya as there's not much awareness...most people as me whether its areal disease! Sometimes am too tired to answer back. There is also the challenge that there's only one rheumatologist in Nairobi! Thank you for being my friend. Have a good day.

Close Lupus
I was first diagnosed with RA about 5 years ago. I was having some problems with rashes & eye inflamation that made my doctor look further. Then a skin biopsy confirmed lupus in 2007. So here I am!
Treatments
- Celebrex Working / Worked
- Worked OK. Didn't have any problems.
- Methotrexate Considering
- Have been on for several years now. Pills gave me stomach problems so now I inject it with out many problems.
- Plaquenil Somewhat Helpful
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Love hate relationship with prednisone. Works good but hate side effects.
- Rituxan Somewhat Helpful

Treatments
- Acupuncture Working / Worked
- Works for my with electro stimulation.
- Duragesic Patch Not Working
- I have tried it but made me too dizzy and tired. I tried for two weeks and just couldn't get used to it. I was way to out of it with the patch.
- Heat Working / Worked
- Lyrica Not Working
- Didn't work for me & gained 10 pounds in 3 months. I also retained water and swelled.
- Morphine Working / Worked
- I occasionally take 20mg of Kadian when I am really in paid and desperate. Dulls the pains and my only side effect is extra fatique.
- TENS Working / Worked
- I have had one for a few years and I love it. I like the versitility of it. I am game for anything that doesn't involve more meds!
- Ultram Working / Worked
- I use Ultram ER and it works ok. I have tried other pain meds but hate the out of it feeling.
- Zanaflex Working / Worked
- Helpful for muscle spasms in my back. Works good a night because it make me sleepy!
