    • About Me

I had a severe asthma attack in June, 1983 that resulted in an epilepsy type of brain damage called Action Myoclonus. I lost most of my speech and mobility. Went through a rigorous program of patterning and other excersises through IAHP (best to Google that as it's too involved to explain here). The program regained some of my mobility but I still need a wheelchair.

With all of you health challenges you have a good outlook and are working at being all that you can be and do. I'm proud of you. Keep of the good work. I know from living with disability for the past 13 years that it can ware you down at times. I just wanted to send you some good thoughts and gentle (((hugs))). Be gentle with yourself. I know it is easy for those of us coping with disability to be really a bit to severe on ourselves at times. Especially in a world that can make us feel a bit invisible as a disabled person. Treatments

      Albuterol Working / Worked
I try to get Ventolin when I can but sometimes the chemist gives me Asmol that I don't think is quite as effective.
      Breathing Exercises Somewhat Helpful
I go to gym twice a week that has alleviated my asthma considerably. Although there ARE times when I get exercise induced asthma & have to take my inhaler.
      Inhaler Working / Worked
I carry my inhaler with me everywhere as it's sort of like a security blanket.
