So sorry to read of your pain..... I DO know pain & have lived with it most of my life as well. Usually around 8.5 on that scale. The scoliosis in my back is NOT as progressed as yours but the MS makes movement too painful anymore. My scolisosis was caused by me TRYING to walk when the MS didnt want me too. Paying for that now. I HOPE you find SOMETHING that can help you and a GOOD DR who will help you. Your family needs you & you need to be DONE with this crappy pain NOW!! Good luck & please let me know if/when something gets done to HELP you! Vent anytine! -Jan

Close Scoliosis
In 1998 I had surgery for severe scoliosis (I had two 90 degree curves). My offical diagnosis is Beals syndrome (other bone curves in my body aswell as scoliosis).
Treatments
- Harrington Rods Working / Worked
- It was the surgery or a wheelchair in 3 months time. The operation was considered a success, But I still live with daily pain.
Close Chronic Pain
Treatments
- Acupressure Somewhat Helpful
- Accupuncture where they send a pulse (similar to the TENS feeling) through my muscles helps for 3 days-1 week.
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- Only during the proces and doesnt take the pain away its jsut helps me relax my muscles.
- Meditation Somewhat Helpful
- Makes me pretty ill and only take the edge off the pain or wipes me out. Anything with a sleeping aid takes almost 20 hours to feel like my limbs are no longer heavy.
- Morphine Not Working
- I reacted badly. hallucinations and neasious.
- Naproxen Not Working
- Naprogesic and nurofen take a small amount of the edge of the pain off me on a good day.
- Nerve Blocks Working / Worked
- Sterios and cortosone shots.....cortosone shot only helps me for 3 days and I had a bruise and sensative spot for about 2-3 weeks. Soon to try the steriod injection.
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- remedial massage helps me for up to 1 and a half weeks. Not completes but tkes the unbearable edge off the pain.
- TENS Working / Worked
- Used while pregnant and in the early stages of childbirth. Only worked for the first stage and the TENS helps relax while on but not when taken off. Woudl love to find a machine that you can use and remained fully clothed!
Open Miscarriage
I lost our baby boy at 16 weeks gestation. I realsied something was wrong within hours. They induced labour and 10 hours later we got to hold him. A few complications followed and 2 weeks later I had a D&C. The Autopsy was only able to find that from 13 wks gestation he stopped thriving and his heart stopped at 16 wks.
Treatments
- D&C Somewhat Helpful
- Had this proceedure 2 week after giving birth to our baby (complications followed the birth)
- Grief Counseling Somewhat Helpful
- Helped me feel a litle more normal and allowed us to talk it through better as a couple.
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- similar to our grief sessions
Open Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
I was diagnosed with accute stress disorder while 10 weeks pregnant after an attack. I had severe panick attacks, became paranoid, extremely anxious & depressed. I had a mild nervous break down & a miscarriage (unknown if linked but I still blame myself for our babys death). I consider myself ok now but I still have a lot of struggles to 'multi task' and manage/cope with stress and often get anxiosu when 'old feelings' appear and worry or have flash backs of my time when I had the breakdown.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- Talking Somewhat Helpful
- Zoloft Not Working
- Made me worse
Open Marfan Syndrome
I have beals (similar to marfans but a different gene when diagnosed)
