    • Close Lung Cancer

In Sept. 2008 I was diagnosed out of the blue with stage IV NSCLC and brain mets. In the hospital I was offered little hope and told to "get my affairs in order". Instead, I consulted with Dr. Robert Nagourney of Rational Therapeutics. He tested my tumor using his unique "assay test" and determined that I would be a perfect candidate for Tarceva and Avastin. I have been on both ever since and my tumors are in remission. Yes, there IS hope for even the most advanced cancers!

      Treatments

      Tarceva Working / Worked
Because Dr. Nagourney was willing to think outside the box, I was able to avoid unnecessary chemo and raditation. I feel great and the side effects of Tarceva are annoying but totally manageable.
      Avastin Working / Worked
I have infusions of Avastin every 2 weeks. It takes about 1 hour and the only side effect is a little fatigue. Avastin works by killing the small blood vessels that feed the tumor. My last PetScan showed almost no tumors so far so good!
