Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)

I have been diagnosed with IC since 2005 and am considered a refractory patient as no medication known to help IC has worked for. I am now on narcotic pain relief, I do bladder installations twice a week and go to counseling for the stress of living in chronic pain. I do have an Interstim implane and am currently going for surgery for a lead revision for the right side, so maybe I will get releif from that. Until they find a cure...

Treatments

Bladder Distention Working / Worked

This does work for a few months. Doesny take the pain away but makes it manageable.

Bladder Instillation Working / Worked

Hard to tell if the installations work. I do lidocaine, heparin, sodium bicarb and kenalog (steroid). It is hard to tell if they work, but the lidocaine does help with the burning flare-ups.

Elmiron Not Working

Nver worked for me. I was on it for a year!
