About Me
Currently recovering from my second ablation. My father became symptomatic with afib at the same age that I did. I realize not everyone wants to hear about my heart rhythm! lol But I am hoping people here will be more interested in that conversation.

Hi Catinsb, I agree with your comments about people not understanding about irregular heart beats. It is too technical for them. Everyone knows about heart attacks but A Fib is too alien. I have an ablation for Atrial flutter, but it did not treat A fib. My condition has been around 17 years and there are others in the family with it on my mother's side. I have had a great life though despite the ups and downs.

Hi Catinsb,
Thank you for your message. I am learning so much from this site, it is awesome. The more I learn, the less frightening it all seems. I am getting used to dealing with my AF.
Luck and love, Deb

Close Atrial Fibrillation (AFib)
I am from Santa Barbara, former teacher. I am currently recovering from my second ablation. My father came down with Afib at the same age that I did. I realize not everyone wants to talk about heart rhythm lol, but I am hoping here people will understand.
Treatments
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- I think it makes me feel a little sicky. I have been taking it since my episodes of afib became frequent. I probably should have started it earlier but I kept hoping the afib would go away instead of progress. It seems to work, I have not had a stroke.
- Digoxin Working / Worked
- I took it for heart rate control and it did lower my heart rate. At first it made me nauseous but then the doctor had me cut up dose in half and I no longer had nausea.
- Lovenox Working / Worked
- The thing I did not like about Lovenox is that I become covered in bruises.
