Today was difficult for me. I think I've mentioned before that Shaun's teachers suspect he may have some issues with learning. Today I took him for psychological testing with our psycholgist (the school system is supposedly performing his psychological, but I got tired of waiting on them). Anyway, Dr. Jordan said that their is definitely something going on with the way Shaun processes information. This was just his preliminary opinion after glancing over the results. It'll take a few days for him to come up with the real conclusions.
I had a hard time with this information. I new it was coming, but it was just so hard to hear. I always did really well in school. I have no idea how to relate to Shaun about this. I do not know how to help him understand the things he's having trouble with. Its one more thing to deal with. Just when I was handling everything so well, another blow. I'm sure I'll feel better about this tomorrow. I am getting Shaun a tutor who deals with children with learning disabilities and special needs. Hopefully she will help. If anyone else has any suggestions or words of wisdom please let me know.
