I had a problem like this. One major thing to do is reflect on what the cause of stress is. Lots of times food is used as an escape. Face your stressors. Another thing is to toss all the garbage from your kitchen, and if you say its for your kids well now is a great time to teach your kids a healthy lifestyle. When I am craving something sweet after dinner or anytime actually I have organic flavored teas like vanilla, apple, etc with a bit of stevia for sweetness. Good luck!

Close Ectodermal Dysplasia
My one year old was just diagnosed with Ectodermal Dysplasia. I am feeling very overwhelmed and am looking for advice and support.
Close Cerebral Palsy
My 7 year old son has CP which affects his left side. He displays very little use of his left arm and hand and wears an AFO brace on his left foot.
Treatments
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- Up and down. Shaun is learning to do many things using his one hand. Now that he receives therapy at school, I have a hard time finding out what he is working on.
- Heel Cord Lengthening Working / Worked
- The only bad thing about this surgery was that he had to wear a cast the entire summer. He got really depressed b/c he is so active. But the surgery worked!
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI have suffered from depression since I can remember, and only recently began treatment. I would love to say that it works all the time, but I still have good days and bad days.
Treatments
- Lexapro Not Working
- No luck here.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- Therapy with the right professional can be extremely helpful. I look forward to my sessions...it is nice to get to vent for an hour!
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- So far so good.
Open Diets & Weight Maintenance
I have always struggled with weight. I suffered from anorexia/bulimia in when I was a teenager but gained a lot of weight with both of my pregnancies. Tried WW 5 years ago and was successful, but have gained everthing back and more. Just started WW again and I've lost 8 pounds!
Treatments
- Atkins Diet Not Working
- I did lose weight, but my BP and cholesterol sky rocketed.
- Eating Healthier Foods Not Working
- I could not stay motivated without an eating plan.
- Eat Less Not Working
- Again, could not stay motivated. I would also deprive myself which ended up back firing.
- Weight Watchers Working / Worked
- This was successful for me in the past. However, when I stopped counting points I gained everything back and more. I have recently started WW again and I'm losing. I love going to the meetings and I like that I can still eat out, etc.
