I'm a single mom who suffers from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, severe sleep apnea, diabetes type 2... so I pretty much have more issues than Cosmopolitan! I have one child who depends on me to entertain him all the time and feeling tired, I feel guilty that I can't always play with him. :( I believe in God and am a Christian. Prior to being on disability, I worked full time doing secretarial duties. I enjoyed it, and felt good about myself havinga job. The depression, anxiety and panic attacks, topping it off with severe sleep apnea has done a number on me and I am constantly tired.

Interests
Reading, mostly self help books or books on parenting. Yard work, fixing up the house I rent to make it more and more cozy....I love going to yard sales, thrift stores and finding things on Craig's list really inexpensive! I love God, my son, New England, sometimes the winter...like when it first comes..campfires, the smell of a barn :-), pretty much all animals except bugs, snakes and rodents....., I love life, but I'm afraid of it at the same time.

Close Anxiety
I have suffered from anxiety for over 20 years. I have been put on disability for it.
Treatments
- Breathing Exercises Somewhat Helpful
- counseled to take deep breaths and try to focus on other things.
- Lexapro Working / Worked
Close Depression
I have suffered from depression for over 20 years. I am on full disability for it now. Which, because I was raised to believe you work for a living, has added depression and guilt.
Treatments
- Effexor Somewhat Helpful
- I'm on the maximum dose, it keeps me going. Without it, I'd be lost.
Open Sleep Apnea
Diagnosed 3 years ago, I am not able to use ANY of the masks since I am claustrophobic and using them only causes me to panic more!
Treatments
- CPAP Not Working
- I'm claustrophobic and I've tried using ALL of the different masks, incluing the "no mask" I purchased for $300 online. Waste of money.
Open ADHD / ADD
Prior to having my 9 yo son tested, I never believed in "ADD/ADHD" and felt it was a "made up" excuse to a child's behavior. My son was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD a year ago. I had homeschooled him for 3rd grade and found that he was constantly doing things other than his work. Playing with a pencil, daydreaming, frustrated with learning, you name it! He isn't on medication for it because I'm against that...so I struggle with the school he goes to b/c they just don't understand.

My son was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD a year ago. I am having problems with his teacher. Anyone else have this concern?
Open Sexually Transmitted Diseases - Female
Type: Genital HerpesDiagnosed with genital herpes when I was 28. Thought my life was OVER. I don't have any outbreaks unless I am under a great deal of stress, and I mean a GREAT DEAL. It's embarrassing especially to inform a new partner of, however, I have learned not to make the disease "me"..if that makes any sense.

- Valtrex Working / Worked
- If taken soon enough, when you know you are about to begin an outbreak, this does help to send that aggrovation back to a dormant state.

- Effexor Working / Worked
- On the maximum dose allowed. It helps, but sometimes I feel like I'm becoming immune to it.
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- I have been in counseling for panic attacks for so long I could write a book about it. What helped me was knowing it was a REAL symptom and that I wasn't losing my mind.
