I love to be in and around the water whether it is a Lake or the Gulf of Mexico, it doesn't matter to me. I can find peace there. I also like classic cars that have been well restored. Local car shows are my favorite excursion.

I know it's so hard having problems with a spouse...the person you used to be able to share your problems with...hang in there, you are not alone.
I just read your last journal entry and wanted to say "Hi". Sending a special rainbow this morning and hoping as you go through life you will find your pot of gold. Caregiving is never easy and when you are losing your spouse and the support system that you have had it is so hard. I know that you feel alone. Sending you lots of soft hugs this morning. xoxo pat
love your profile pic!
Hi. I just joined this site today. Today is my parent's 41st wedding anniversary. They too were high school sweethearts. Last week my mom (age 62) was diagnosed with AD. For some reason, your profile caught my eye (the first I've seen). Reading your profile made me feel less alone. Thank you. I'm glad my mom has my dad by her side and I'm glad your husband has you. You are a gift to him and to your children and grand-children. You may never realize what an angel you are to the people around you...and now that includes me.
Thank you so much for the rainbow and for thinking about me.Hope you are doing okay and are hanging in there. Many hugs to you. Christine
My Husband is only 57 yrs old and has mentally declined dramatically in the past 5 yrs. It started after he lost his job. Depression set in then he started forgetting things. Names of ordiary objects, people, places we used to go, foods he once liked and how to eat them. Often asking if he needed to heat them up or not. Drs. have different diagnosis. FTD, Vascular Dementia, early onset AD. I just know my husband of 40 years is gone and this strange grown child is in his body.
My husband of 40 years has dementia. I'm the only caregiver and I have no one to talk to about this. I need to know I'm doing the right things and learn how to handle the days ahead.
