    • About Me

I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis / Painful Bladder Syndrome on March 15, 2007. The pain started February, 2005 but it took this long to diagnose. I was brought into the OR and the urologist confirmed the diagnosis by way of a hydro in the OR and photos were taken. I still have the severe pain and I am looking for info and support.

Hi I was searching for info on Pamelor and I saw you take it for IC. I also have IC and IBS and my doctor prescribed it to me. I was wondering if you have side effects from it and how much you take for it to help.
      Thanks Tori

      Treatments

      Bladder Distention Working / Worked
This was done for diagnostic purposes.
      Bladder Instillation Working / Worked
Yes, I use the instillations during severe flares and I get some reliefl
      Elmiron Working / Worked
      Pyridium Working / Worked
      as needed
      Pamelor Working / Worked
Helps ease the pain at the base of the bladder and the chronic pelvic pain that the bladder seems to effect..referral pain.
      Sinemet Working / Worked
This is the life saving treatment. Placing ice packs in the Perineal area. I stay in bed when I have severe flares and use ICE.
      Oxycodone Working / Worked
I could not get through the day without these meds...even with all of the other treatments I listed...I still need the Oxycontin... 80 mg a day and 30 mg short acting when needed
