      Massive bilateral PE diagnosed and treated on 25/3/09 after 3 days of extreme hyperventilating. Caused by undiagnosed/ untreated Type 1 Diabetes. Spent 10 days in hospital, thrombolised with Alphase. Spent 3 weeks out of hospital in escalating pain (doctors described as usual) until unbearable. Checked into A&E. Diagnosed with pneumonia. Spent 1 week in hospital. Out on 1 May. Tired!

      Hi, I just wanted to say hi. I am also from the UK. I had massive Bi Lateral PE's in Aug 2007 and also underwent thrombolysis with Alpetase.

      Massive PE brought on by un-diagnosed type 1 diabetes. Treated with thrombolysis (alteplase)

    • Open Diabetes Type 1

      Massive bilateral PE diagnosed and treated on 25/3/09 after 3 days of extreme hyperventilating. Caused by undiagnosed/ untreated Type 1 Diabetes.       Insulin (Regular and NPH) Working / Worked
    • Open Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

      Diagnosed with DVTs on both legs on Thursday 15th October after being off Warfarin for 3 weeks and having swine flu. This is after a massive bi-lat PE and pneumonia in March 09 brought on by undiagnosed and untreated Type 1 Diabetes
