I had viral menigitis 2-28-09. I was hospitaled for 9 days. I was treated like a drugie because I could not speak or only use simple words. I have lost my health insurance due to horrible employer and have having to rely on the "SYSTEM" yeah right. I saw a neursugeon in Orange County, CA on 4-7-09 because the hospital said I had "WATER ON THE BRAIN" then discharged me and told me "IT WOULD GO AWAY". I found Hydrocephalus Association and the Hydrocephalus Foundation who referred me to Michael G Muhonen, MD, who told me I did not have Hydrocephalus but I did have "Post menigitis headache" I have a letter from him stating that I need anti-inflammatory treatments for 12 mths and there is still a 25% chance this is life long. I cannot find a doctor who will treat me. I am being told by county GP's that its just a headache. if it is just a headache the I think they should experience it. My understanding is most GP's, Neurosurgeons, Neurologists dont know how to diagonise this or how to treat it.
