Close Scoliosis
My daughter was a promissing gymnast for 7 years (8-15). When she was 13 she was diagnosed with scoliosis (10%) a year later it jumped to 40%. She is in constant pain. Massage & chiropractor give her moderate relief. I hope she will seek surgery as it seems the only option at the point
Treatments
- Brace Working / Worked
- she had her brace for 1 year and it stabilized her curve - didn't improve it but stayed at 43 degree's
Close Anxiety Disorders in Children
I have a 16 year old daughter who has had varioius ailments her entire life. At 18 months she had first of many ear surgerys. She is moderately hearing impaired. Has suffered migraines since age 7. For past year or so has had contant nausea and headaches (weekends improves somewhat). She has been tested for almost everything under the sun. She is due to have a balance test and a CT scan and if that shows nothing then she consensus is an axiety/stress disorder. I am at my wits end.
Treatments
- Hypnotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- The therapist was $150 an hour - we went 5 or 6 times and couldn't afford to keep taking her.
- Prozac Not Working
- She tried Prozac last year for a few months she did not like the way it made her feel.
Open Hearing Loss & Deafness
Type: Conductive (Moderate)My daughter (16) has had hearing loss, many surgeries since age 18 months. Diagnosis - eausation tubes never fully developed. Dr. did an ear drum reconstruction when she was 8 but it didn't improve hearing. Aides won't help as it is inner ear loss. for past year she has had headaches, nausea, occational ringing etc. She's been diagnosed with anxiety but I feel strongly it has to do with her ears. She's barely making it to school. Can't concentrate from pain. Any help is appreciated.
Treatments
- Ear Tubes Somewhat Helpful
- approx. 15 sets over 10 years. Still functioning in right ear. Fallen out of left leaving a hole in the drum
- Lip Reading Somewhat Helpful
- Has read lips from a very young age - somewhat
Open Menopause
I am a 43 year old healthy female. Mostly healthy. Probably could stand to lose 10-15 pounds and could definitely be more active and eat better. I've had pelvic & ovarian pain since my 20's as well as occasional bladder & kidney infections. I'm feeling like the change is starting. More PMS, change in cycle etc. Pain in ovaries on both sides for past several months. Is this peri-menopause?
Open Pre-menstrual Syndrome (PMS)
I am 43 years old, have fairly regular periods. Used to have terrible ovulating pain every month. Not so much as I'm getting older. Periods are heavier but shorter so basically I'm probably pretty average. However, PMS - terrible mood swings, white rage over minor issues are becoming worse every month. I need some help!
Open Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Primary Progressive MSI don't have MS. My close friend who has MS for 10 years has lost the use of her legs & hands & arms are now affected. I'm joining this group is to learn how to be a better friend and support to her. Her family has lived in denile while those around her walk on egg shells as she is dying before our eyes. I'm so scared that the "choking" fits she has more frequently are going to take her from us suddenly and closure will be impossible for her family and those close to her.
