    • Close Dizziness & Vertigo

Vertigo started in 1997. Diagnosed with Meniere's in 1998. Episodes started becoming more severe in 2004. Doctors now feel that vertigo is caused by positional vertigo and migraine associated vertigo. My vertigo episodes last for months now.

      Treatments

      Antivert Somewhat Helpful
Helps with nausea, but not the spinning/imbalance.
      Dramamine Somewhat Helpful
Helps with nausea, but not the spinning/imbalance.
Epley Maneuver Too Soon to Tell
Mixed results so far. Definitely not a miracle cure for me. May have helped once but failed to help several times.
      Valium Working / Worked
Took me weeks to adjust to it, but it is a lifesaver now. I stay on a constant low dose to help me tolerate my exercises right now and take a larger dose when I hav an acute attack.
    • Close Migraine Headaches

My migraines aren't too frequent (1-2 per month), but generally last days. I also have severe vertigo that can last months - we are trying to figure out the relationship there. Hormones are a big trigger for me. I'm trying preventive meds for the first time to see if it can help the vertigo.

      Treatments

Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Too Soon to Tell
Trying to follow a strict migraine diet right now - sure is hard to follow, can't tell if it is helping.
      Axert Not Working
Only tried it twice, but it didn't help.
      Excedrin Somewhat Helpful
Was somewhat helpful, but I'm trying not to do any caffeine right now, so avoiding excedrin too.
      Imitrex Working / Worked
Worked, but cardiologist won't let me use it anymore due to heart complications
      Topamax Not Working
I had to stop it due to side effects (stomach pain, cognitive slowness). I took it for migraines and vertigo and didn't see a difference in the 2 months I was on it
