About Me
I practice 12-Step recovery in my life. I am married to someone also in recovery. I have two children, adult women who also practice recovery in their lives. I use my recovery in my marriage, in my professional practice and in all my affairs. I love people.

Close Codependency
I was raised in a home with religious, sexual and codependent addictions acted out constantly. I married two alcoholics and got into Al-Anon during the second marriage. I entered CoDA two years later. I have excellent results from recovery in my family of origin, with my adult daughters, but still struggle with linking up with dysfunctional men. My current marriage of five years is with a man in recovery, but who is toxicly codependent.
Treatments
- 12 Step Program Working / Worked
- Al-Anon for 18 years. Love the program. Taught me how to have my own life, recognize my unhealed places and address them diligently.
- CoDA Working / Worked
- Joined CoDA 17 years ago. Love the program. Helps me recognize my codependent traits and how to address them. Only drawback is that it is a young program and not very many old timers around. Sponsorship is not practiced widely, so its not being passed on to the newcomers very effectively.
- Reading Working / Worked
- Codependent No MOre and Facing Love Addiction are great books on codependency.
- \"Codependent No More\" Working / Worked
- Good book. Good preface to CoDA and AlAnon.
