Thanks for the hug I needed it. The last year has been hard. I lost a job that I loved, went back to school and started a knew career. It's hard trying to fit into a new place with new people, especially when you are very shy but things are getting better. Hope you are doing well..

Treatments
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- This has been very helpful, although I still have shyness. I was lucky to find good therapists. Always be cautious - just because someone is a therapist, doesn't mean they're going to do the right thing.
- Self-help Working / Worked
- I've been helped a lot by reading books, spirituality, journaling, etc.
- Singing Working / Worked
- I didn't know singing was a form of therapy! ;-) I'm a musician and I do find playing music and singing to be very healing in general.
- Celexa Working / Worked
- I took this while I was in an emotionally abusive marriage. One year later (almost to the date) I finally found the strength to leave. I've been taking Celexa for 8 years now - I can't believe it's been that long. It is extremely helpful, but I have since lowered the dose from 30mg to 20mg. Right now I'm working on lowering the dose from 20mg to 10mg. I hope to go off it someday. But frankly, if I had to feel the shame I felt while not on it, I would take it for the rest of my life.
