Close Colon Cancer
Stage: IIIA (T1-2, N0, M0)

On November 26, 2008 I went to the ER with excruciating abdominal pain. They did an x-ray and found stage 3 colon cancer. Did emergency surgery that afternoon. Cancer had mastecized? to ovary and glands in hip. Began Chemo the first week of January. Needless to say the holidays stunk. Chemo has not been going well because of my WBC count being too low. Just started the booster shot two weeks ago. 5 out of 12 treatments thus far.

Treatments

5-FU Working / Worked

I have a four drug cocktail so I have no idea which one makes me the sickest. I have a 2 day drip with this and usually end up throwing up a little but not too bad. Not as bad as some people I've heard of. Mostly nauseated but taking Ativan for that.

Avastin Working / Worked

They said this one gives me the tingly horrible sensation to cold. Figure we'll have the coldest summer on record just to make me miserable.

Chemotherapy Working / Worked

Oxaliplatin Working / Worked

Radiotherapy Considering

Haven't started it yet but will have 5 weeks worth once I do.

Surgery Working / Worked

Removed 12 inches of my colon, my left ovary and glands in my hip. Thyroids I think. Believe they got it all. Another PET this month.
