Hello, Wednesday I went to the Neuro Group at Yale. I met a very nice woman that I’ve been talking to since the beginning of my ordeal. It was nice to finally put a face with the voice. She was the one who put me on the cancellation list and got me the sooner appointment. The Dr. came in I told him what happened in the past, my fall in March, and how I got to him. He also reviewed my MRI and said there isn’t anything he can do for me but surgery. I do want to get fixed; I dodn’t want to stay like this too much longer. It was just very overwhelming, I did all of this before, my last surgery was so hard and it hurt so bad. Anyway, he heard how upset I was about not being able to see my old surgeon because he works in private practice now and doesn’t take my insurance. I went to him for my back problems since I was 18 years old, he has always fixed me in the past, it was heart breaking to know this time he wouldn’t be there for me. My new surgeon found out about how I was so upset. Come to find out my old surgeon still works there as an attending, he comes every 8 weeks. My new surgeon made it so I can still see my old surgeon for my per-op physical and he will schedule my surgery so he will be the attending in the room at the time of my surgery. I’m so happy, I wish he could do the surgery but I’m glad he will be there watching close. They didn’t give me a date yet, after I sign some papers and do some tests they will give the date. He said look for it being around the last week of June or first week of July. I’m ok with that, gives me time to get things together and the girls will be out of school too.Thursday I started a new medicine to help prevent stomach problem because I’m taking so many meds now. I took it at 6 am, by 10 am I started to itch, by noon it was burning all over. I do sometimes have stupid reactions to meds so I didn’t think much of it. Anyway by 6pm I broke out in a nasty bubbley rash all over my body. Ain’t that some BS. I called my PCP and the Dr on call said to take Benadryl and it will stop and go away. Well it didn’t, and it looked and felt so bad. I had to wait for my hubby to get home to go to the hospital, but that Hydrocodone and Benadryl together knock me out. Soon as things start to get good some more crap happens.Friday was my normal Dr. appointment they couldn’t believe how bad I broke out over such a common drug. The Dr I talk to over the phone the night before said it was so bad that they needed to treat it as if I was burned. So they took care of it cleaned it all out, wrapped it with gauze and an ace bandages and gave me shot of steroids. They told me to come back the next day to treat my skin again.Saturday I wanted to be the first one there at the Dr. But I ended up taking my youngest daughter with me and got there later. Only on Saturdays they don’t make appointments, its first come first serve. I had to wait 2 hrs sitting in a chair. My back and leg was killing me. Well my worst rash got a little infection, so I had to get a shot of antibiotics. She said I responded well to the steroids and besides the infection my body was heeling well. My daughter and I left and had planned to go out to breakfast, but after the Dr taking so long we missed it. I had a few things to do before going home. OMG! We went to the ATM then to the post office. In like 5 minutes after that my back and leg was killing me. The pain was so bad all I could do is drive to Burger King, park the car, and lay down until my meds kicked in. I never did that before and it won’t let it happen again. Our friends planned a big cook out and my other friend had a house birthday party. My hubby took the kids there so I could rest and maybe meet them later. I couldn’t stand it, all I could think was, I was missing everything, that they all were having so much fun. So simply stupid me got dressed and stopped by both places. I already aggravated my back that morning after the Dr., so by the time I got home I could barely walk. Couldn’t even change my cloths, I just laid in the bed until it got better. Sunday was so nice, quiet, peaceful, and no company all day, that was odd. All of us got in our own little space in the house and did our own things. Then later that night we all got together and watched a good movie and talked about everything. Now it’s Monday and I got a whole new problem, a yeast infection from the antibiotics. More BS! I’m going to my OBGYN tomorrow. Well that’s it. Until next time, big hugs, Lovely
