Praising God through this storm...
Here it is 10/3/09, it has been almost 3 months …
M name is Jean. I will be fifty one in July. I donated blood in fall of 2007 and found out that I have Hep-c. I had blood transfusions in 1976, maybe that's where it came from.I had a liver biopsy in March of 2008. It showed cirrhosis, (stage 4) moderate grade. I was totally blown away... Treatment started in June of 2008. I was undectable at 4 wks. and I still am. My last shot will be 6/28/09.(my genotype is 1b, so I had to have 48 wks of treatment) I am almost finished. Its been a long, hard year, but it's been worth it. In December 2009, we will check my viral load once more and hopefully, my PCR, and RNA will remain undectable. (of course, it will be checked again 6/30/09.

Thirty-four years ago I was in an accident and recieved blood at an Army Hospital in Ft. Bragg. The year was 1976. I donated blood in the fall of 2007. The American Red Cross sent me a letter and said that I tested positive for the Hep-C virus. I was devastated! March of 2008 I had a liver biopsy that showed cirrhosis.(stage 4, moderate grade).I started treatment in June of 2008. I have genotype 1b.I have been undetectable since the 4th week of treatment.I am in week 43 at this time.
