I have recently been diagnosed with MDS and am on an emotional roller coaster at this point.  I was diagnosed in my hometown but will be going to MD Anderson in Houston, Tx. for a 2nd opinion.  On 3/16/09 I had a bone marrow biopsy, on 3/19/09 I had two units of blood as my blood count was 7.8 and then was diagnosed with MSD.  This brought my blood count up to 10.2.  I felt great and thought surely I was misdiagnosed and was just anemic.  I leave tomorrow for Houston.  I am starting to feel a little fatigued and had another blood count on 4/15/09.  The count was 9.  Does anyone have any suggestions for treatment?  I am so lost as to what to expect at this point.
