Close Meth Addiction & Recovery
I've been sober from meth for 4 1/2 years now. I couldn't imagine ever returning to that lifestyle. I thought I was giving up my bestfriend when I got sober, but quickly realized that my true friends were waiting for me on the other side. I still think about it, don't get me wrong. But I was killing myself and those around me. When getting high resorted to selling myself and living on the streets, I knew I was better than the drug.
Treatments
- Detox Working / Worked
- I was in a rehab center for 30 days. I'm one of those people that only had to do it once for everything to sink in. They told me that only one of us would stay sober after we left. I am very competetive.....I chose to fight for my life.
- Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Working / Worked
- This program is exactly what I needed at the time to straighten my life out. The support network, the stable living options, I would have drowned in depression if I hadn't have worked the steps.
