Close Down Syndrome
i am the mother of Andrew 8 with Down syndrome and the 2nd of my boys. Andrew has a 20 year old big brother who he loves very much. i found out about Andrew have Ds when i was 18 weeks pregnant. it took me about 6 weeks to take everything in and yes i was mad, mad as h_ll. i did everything right but like i said it took 6 weeks and then i was just fine and could not wait until Andrew was born and he is one of the best kids you could ever have. my boo bear.

Open Breakups & Divorce
for the last 5 or so years my ex had to have me and a girlfriend. in 9-07 i asked him to leave and by 2-15-08 i was divorced. it was a nasty one but things have moved on and we are trying to get a long for our little boys sake

- my work offers counseling so i took the offer up and i am doing much better
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- just talking to my family and friend and there support was the best for me

- i get out my knittings needles and yarn and start knitting. the only thing i can knit is scarfs but i love it
Open Diabetes Type 2
my 8 year old son has type 2 diabetes. he also has Down syndrome. he is on metformin and diet for control

Open Gastric Bypass Surgery
i had my surgery 9-03 and lost over 100 pounds, then after year and a half i started gaining it back. i gained 50 pounds back and now i am loseing it again. slowly but loseing it

i had gastric bypass in 2003 and did very well and now i've gained 50 lbs back and i am trying to lose it again but it's hard.

about 2 years ago my doctor found a goiter and it's been ok. i go to the endo doctor every year just to make sure
Open Hiatal Hernia
my doctor just found that i have a hiatal hernia. it's a small one but now i have to watch it.

- Prevacid Working / Worked
- works well and i have to stay on prevacid the rest of my life
