Close Hypothyroidism
I have hypothyroidism due to the side effects of having radiation treatment to fight against the Hodgskins found in my body 10 years ago. My life changed very much during and after the treatments were finished.
Treatments
- Synthroid Somewhat Helpful
- My doctor monitors my T count closely.
Open Parenting Big Kids (5-8)
I have a child who is 7, in the second grade and sometimes it gets rough out here. There are times when I need support from other parents who are experiencing some of the same issues I am going through raising my child.
Treatments
- Education (School) Somewhat Helpful
- The more I continue to educate myself and the teachers, the more this method can prove to be helpful. What a shame that most teachers are only focused on the state standards and not always willing to work outside the box. The teachers are not always willing to listen or take the time necessary to listen to parents/the child. They have a schedule to stick to based on the State's requirements. So no the educational system is not designed to work all the time.
- Listening Working / Worked
- Always works when I listen to my child and we work together to achieve goals in education. He is a creative child who does not do well when a teacher tries to pigeon hole him. After all, he was not born in a box. Nor does he live in a box.
- Patience Working / Worked
- Patience is a virtue and I am growing with my virtue. My son benefits from all my patience, dedication and hard work!!
