another day, another early out... Mood
Saturday, May 2, 2009 | A Frustrating story
after a refreshing four-hour slumber  over an eight-hour period of waking and sleeping I somehow managed to get to work.  The office was a madhouse with staff and public coming and going.  The lower back and leg aches in full bloom.  Suddenly, an explosion in my head - stress?  possible... took a break and a painkiller, which I hate to do at work.  Got some relief and the headache subsided but the back pain persisted.  After near seven hours - I left early - did some household chores.  The pain only got stronger - so more pill-cocktails and I was "manageable" again.  Upset, frustrated... when does this stop?

and the beat goes on Mood
Thursday, April 30, 2009 | A General Update story

geesh... ten  years ago I'd laughed at some of the posts on this site.  Yeah, I was one of those real 'sensitive' people who believed it was mind over matter.  Healthy since birth - God got me back at age 48 with onset diabetes.  Kept my levels fairly normal until the past two years and got everything known to man.

Now I'm a chronic pain sufferer.  Lower back, hips, legs, feet, and recent and perhaps recurring bout with the shingles.  Missing time from work - thank God for FMLA or I'd be living under a bridge.

Off again today with real bad aggrivation (my words for manageable pain with pills) in hips, legs (nearly numb) and foot pain.  And, nasel pain that streches into my head/skull/upper neck.  I call them near migraines.  Need to find out (other than Lortab) how to manage the awful pain in the left nasel cavity.  I'm thinking since I live on a golf course (in a condo, please) that I'm now allergic to the air and wind.  Good grief, what's next??

Called the Drs office yesterday and today.  It is a HMO - so I should be hearing back from them during the summer.  I made an appt for next week - at least I'll get about 90 seconds of face time.

migraines again Mood
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 | A Rambling story
Back to work today (7:30 am) with painful sinus headache.  It felt like a railroad spike lodged from my nasal to a painful arch over my skull.  Oh... add in some very aggrivating hip aches.  Took a pain med around 10 am and got the hip ache gone.  The near-migraine subsided until after lunch when it burst like a pipe bomb into my head.  Took yet another pain med and enjoyed 'relief' until 5:30 pm.  It's like being on vacation when pain is gone.  Enjoyed nearly four hours of pain-free living.  The 'near-migraine' returned (thankfully) toward the end of my work day.  It became a real migraine with feelings of nausea, blurred eyesight (aura?), concentration reduction.  Got in the house.  Did some breathing exercises.  Took two (2) Lortabs - pain manageable after about an hour.  At 11:30 pm - I am writing this - only minor headache.  I am now ready to have something to eat.  Totally off schedule for diabetic meds.  Crossing fingers and praying to all to make it to work in the morning.
