About Me
I'm just an easy-going person who loves to laugh, spend time with loved ones, and finish school so I finally can get my degree. woo hoo lol =P I currently struggle with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, Raynaud's Syndrome, Allergies to nearly everything, Asthma....and all the Depression & Anxiety that comes along with it......I try my best to always stay optimistic even though sometimes it seems near impossible.

Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
diagnosed at age 20....currently not controlled.....I've tried several treatment types and recently started a new one.
Treatments
- Celebrex Not Working
- completely ineffective.....and definitely not worth taking because of the risk that it caused which eventually led it to be recalled.
- Enbrel Somewhat Helpful
- the relief was slight...and not enough for me too remain on it.
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- I take this in combination with all my other treatments and It definitely works.
- Humira Working / Worked
- this worked wonderfully.....this was the only DMARD that worked for me versus all others...unfortunately I had to stop taking it because I eventually became immune.
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- it's working....however I have found that alone without a DMARD or INFUSION treatment, it is minimally effective. The side effects are horrible though.. nausea, visual changes, chills, hot flashes, esophagal...etc..etc..
- Orencia Not Working
- I had no improvement whatsoever with this infusion.
- Plaquenil Somewhat Helpful
- I did see a difference but the side effects made it all not worth it.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- this was The Best drug that controlled my flares, pain and reactions to meds! the side effects though can be long-lasting and/or irreversible such as cataracts, type 2 diabetes, weight gain, osteoporosis if you are on it long term.
- Rituxan Too Soon to Tell
- I am currently taking this infusion..... and i'm too new to it to say if it's working or not yet.
- Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
- just a temporary solution.
- Naproxen Working / Worked
- it helps reduce the inflammation
- Baclofen Working / Worked
- works great in combination with the pain meds.
Close Fibromyalgia
was diagnosed at 16 prior to being diagnosed with RA 4 years later...my physician said sometimes Fibromyalgia can be a pre-cursor to RA
Treatments
- Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
- it helps.....but too much of a temporary solution to do it often.
- Elavil Considering
- I don't quite know exactly how this is supposed to work...and the constant grogginess in the morning and the drowsiness during the day made it difficult for me to maintain my daily activities...so I opted to only take it at night.
- Heat Working / Worked
- the ones in physical therapy are awesome.....but "Therma-Care" is a great alternative OTC.
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- this is one drug that I didn't think worked at all....until I stopped taking it and felt much worse....the side effects are more than a little annoying.... especiallty the intense drowsiness....
- Morphine Not Working
- Morphine didn't work at all for me and I have yet to find out the reason.
- Vitamin B12 Working / Worked
- great way to get some much needed energy for awhile.
- Baclofen Working / Worked
- this muscle relaxer works well....not nearly as good as Soma...but I had to change because Soma made me way to groggy.
Open Anxiety
I've dealt with anxiety nearly my whole life and even with medication....I still struggle with it today.
Treatments
- BuSpar Working / Worked
- this is an awesome drug....I just wish I wouldn't be so sedated when I take it with my other drugs.
- Remeron Working / Worked
- I had alot of trouble sleeping and this helped tremendously...however...once you take it for an extended period of time, just like most drugs of this type...you can't sleep without it.
- Xanax Working / Worked
- this works great and I know I'd have a lot of difficulty without it.
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI've dealt with depression the latter part of my life....and it's constantly a daily struggle.
Treatments
- Elavil Not Working
- this hasn't helped with my depression at all.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- it works...but finding the right doctor can feel impossible.
- Writing Working / Worked
- this worked but it was difficult to keep up with when I got busy.
- Remeron Working / Worked
- taking this helped me sleep...but as with all other drugs of this type...once you take it for an extended period of time...you wont sleep without it.
Open GERD & Heartburn
I developed GERD from years of taking high dose pain medication.
Treatments
- Aciphex Working / Worked
- I used this and it worked very well
- Antacids Not Working
- Mylanta didn't seem to work very well on it's own.
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- avoiding the foods that I shouldn't eat really helped.
- Prevacid Working / Worked
- I'm currently taking it and it works ok.
- Protonix Working / Worked
- this worked very well.
- Reglan Working / Worked
- this one works excellent
- Pepcid Working / Worked
- it works great in combination with prevacid.
Open Osteoporosis
I developed Osteoporosis at age 24 and it gets very hard to cope at times.
Treatments
Open Sjogren's Syndrome
I was diagnosed with this after being diagnosed with RA....I don't know if that was the cause or not.
Open Obesity
I used to be at a normal weight until I was diagnosed with RA and had to use several medications that cause weight gain and including high dosages of cortisteroids for a long time.
Treatments
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- this always works....the only problem is I end up having to stop when I have problems with my arthritis.
- Slim-Fast Not Working
- this diet did not work for me at all.
