I know what you mean about not knowing or not wanting to involve friends too much. Even though my friends were a part of my son's life (who passed away last year) I still have trouble talking to them about him. I don't really have much advice for you.. It's easier for me to write to my friends about my feelings. I hope you are doing okay this holiday. I know holidays are really tough.

I'm so sorry for you loss. My son passed away from Leukemia (ALL) almost two years ago and it seems like yesterday. I know your pain and I know the journey is difficult, but we are all here for you.
    Peace and Love...Shawn

Hey, ilandgirl26! Thanks very much for sharing your story! I understand EXACTLY what you're going through...my mom passed away on May 15th (I'll share the details later on), and right now, I'm feeling excruciatingly overwhelmed...it feels surreal, right? It's like it's NOT really happening to us, and we're only living through a horrid nightmare that WON'T go away! It IS sometimes unbearable, sure, yet - without sounding superficial, of course - we MUST continue living our daily lives AS BEST WE CAN...it's one of our BEST options in getting (surviving, actually) through our current, dreaded experience. I'll write more later on, when there's more time. ENJOY your evening - wherever you are - and write to me at ANY-time, if you'd like.
    ALL my BEST to you!!
    Alex H.
