thanks for your nice note. i have been very fortunate to be this healthy and i feel so bad for all those who are still suffering with this horrible disease. i have been helping our local CCF to raise money for continued research for a cure. i sure didn't want to know this much about uc at my age, but you have to be informed because not all drs. are at the top of their game when it comes to managing this.

Sulfazine! Crazy. That is definitely old school for sure. That was the first drug I was on 23 years ago when it was THE only drug. I'm very happy it's working for you. Remember to drink plenty of water and watch yourself out in the sun. Enjoy.

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
2006 is when it all started for 6 months i was living in my bathroom . 19 or 20 times a day . as a busy stay at home mom i never thought anything about it . i was not lossing LBS no blood and was use to pains in my tummy since i have always had tummy pains . my whole life doctors never did anything about it so i lived with it .. one day i went and saw blood lots of it . thats is when i world turned upside down . i had a sigmoid then a colonosacopy done . turns out i have pancolitis .
Treatments
- Asacol Somewhat Helpful
- worked for 3 years no problem. started having flairs upped dose seems slow but working again . time heals all right
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- no red meat for me only chicken and fish. but im still trying to figure out what caused my first flare up . i didnt do anything diffrent maybe it was just time i guess. still learning about the illness
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- first pill was great . the week i took it i had to come off it . gain 12 lbs very bad mood swings. sweat a ton
- Azulfidine Too Soon to Tell
- doc put me on this not sure why since i was doing great on asocol . i think it had somthingto do with my joint pains but who knows
