Bilateral amputee due to Meniningococcemia (Bacterial Meningitis) when I was a year old. I am about to have the Ertl procedure done on one leg. Once that heals I want to do the other. I am married, have one child and 4 step children. I am VERY active despite my legs and am very happy I have been able to maintain mobility! :)

Meningococcemia (Bacterial Meningitis) when I was a year old. Lost all of my fingers to the bottom knuckle on the left hand and half of my thumb. On my right hand I lost all of my fingers to the first knuckle but guess what... I have my right thumb b/c I sucked my thumb and it kept the circulation. I lost the tip of my nose. My left leg at the ankle and the right foot I lost the toes and heel. I have always been active, ballet and tap dance as a child, cheerleading in middle and high sch.
