thank you. I'm here to learn and meet others who might have some of the same issues. Either way, I understand pain and physical limitations to some extent.
I had MPD& through therapy, prayer & lots of hard work am now fully integrated. As a counselor, I assist others in finding freedom from the past. Integration may not be for everyone, but freedom is! I'm here to support those walking toward wholeness - whatever that may look like for them.
I have SMA Type 1, am 44 and live independently. I'd love to talk with others who have SMA, as well as offer support to those in need.
no real story you haven't heard before. just noticed my pot use growing after the recent deaths from cancer of my mom & best friend. dont want to use pot to smother my emotions.
after under-going jaw surgery, doc put an iv in my femeral vein, as most of my veins are incredibly tiny. at the time, i told him not to do it, since i don't walk and that means there's a risk of dvt. he argued with me for 2 hours (this in the middle of the night) and i was so exhausted (not to mention on morphine) that i gave in. two weeks later i had to be hospitalized as my leg swelled up, was bright red, hot to the touch and excruciatingly painful. they told me i was lucky to be alive!
in 1972, at the age of 7, i had a complete spinal fusion, leaving only the cervical vertebrae not fused. by the time i had surgery, my curvature was 65 degrees and had become life threatening.
Came across DS in March and am so impressed by this community of caring! Hoping to learn more ways to be of service here.
