I am 37 years old. recently I found out that i need surgery for a thoracic aneurysm. they have to do open chest as they can't do a stent. I have a 15-20% chance of being a paraplegic.

i am 37 years old just recently in february of 2007 i was diagnosed with a thoracic aneurysm. I have already been told i need surgery for this as well. Now i'm in the process of trying to get a second opinion to see what else can be done. I have been told already that I have a 15-20% chance of coming out a paraplegia. where do i go from here?

- Labetalol Too Soon to Tell
- This medicine is to slow down my heart rate and blood pressure and keep the aneurysm from growing larger.
