About Me
I was only diagnosed with RA at the end of 2008 and so far have not found the right medicine "cocktail" to help. So far I've been on prednisone, methotrexate, enbrel, humira and Simponi and Orencia supplemented by rx strengths of vitamind D and folic acid. So far no luck with the meds. I have a new Rheumy and feel much more confidence in him than the old one. He says we'll keep trying different things. (Update this rheumy was another dud. I am moving on to an new one. There has to be a good one out there for me.I try to stay off the pity pot but do go there sometimes. I feel like I live my life in 4 to 6 weeks blocks hoping that meds will work. I run a child care center for pregnant and/or parenting homeless women. I've been struggling to deal with the things I can no longer do and trying to stay grateful for the things I can do. This is a wonderful site and the people here are a blessing!

Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
Diagnosed with RA finally after wrong diagnosis and treatments for months. Nothing has helped much so far.
Treatments
- Enbrel Not Working
- Terrible itching, but kept it up. Unfortunately it didn't work for me.
- Folic Acid Too Soon to Tell
- Humira Not Working
- Had an allergic reaction to first injection and had to stop.
- Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful
- Helped a little, but not much.
- Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
- Helped a little, but I had terrible mood swings and felt like I was losing my mind so discontinued use.
- Vitamin D Too Soon to Tell
- Rheumy tested and found Im deficient so gave me an rx strength supplement to take once a week.

Treatments
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- Went through several therapists over the years until I found the one that was right for me. We worked together for many years and I do mean work. She always let me set the pace and decide what felt safe to talk about. It was never about an agenda or breakthroughs.
