  Hang in there hun ! I've had all those feelings 2. Sometimes we just get sick of being sick. Quite a ride ain't it ?

  Yes, I was on 11 pills. I'm down to one. Sometimes the side effects or them not working at all just isn't worth liver failure.

  Hope you find something that works for you soon. I don't think there is any easy way to deal with pain. We just do it because we have to and keep hoping they will find a cure. Hugs

  I know it can b tiresome day in and day out.I have fought it every inch of the way myself. Life is the best thing going. I try to roll with it the best I can. I know you r sick of being sick. Try to think of the funny things that have happend in life.When I get studdering bad and my skin begins to pull back on my face I sing. I put Vicks under my nose for aroma therapy. I take hot showers and I dare say there are times I am surely the cleanest chick on earth ! I watch cats play, i listen to rain fall, i hear the ocean roar, I hear the wind, rustling leaves, the purr of my cat, the heat of my electric blanket and the sweet smell of coffee. I was on 11 drugs at one time.They were destroying my liver.Sometimes the side effects are worse then the disease. I found the pain pills a boomarang. I am down to one. The mind is powerful.I keep distracted.My heart goes out to you as you find a balance.

  Hi Shawn, I am in the same boat. I cannot take anti depressants, and I tried being off pain meds for 5 weeks, and could not move off the couch, or drive, and even not moving, the pain was as you said excruciating, and it was not withdrawl pain. I even called a rehab recently I saw an ad for called Brookhaven. (just because I still cannot get into a kind caring pain doc, and they make me feel so shameful) (I get tired of it) They take Medicare and are in Oklahoma. But they said they would never take someone off cold turkey, it is individual and tapered, but that if someone has chronic pain, they need a pain doc, and they need something else that will work. They do not want anyone off meds unless plan b is in place, and the patient will have pain under control. My sisters sent me without telling me to a rehab, a few mos back, God is sustaining me, but it was horrific, and it was when my dog was dying, and it wrecked my reputation and job.. more later, hugs, Carla

  Shawn, I'm no medical expert, but have you been checked for MS? I know heat can exasperate MS. Also, if you're not satisfied with a FM diagnosis, keep trying. Exhaust all measures. BUT, keep in mind that you may not get another answer, and prepare yourself for that reality and even prepare for acceptance, or at least try not to be so pissed off everyday that you can hardly breathe (I've gone through that phase, it gets you no where). And as much as doctors like lab tests and concrete results, it doesn't always happen. Personally, I would get all your records together, not only test results, but a list of your own experiences, and find a doctor that specializes in autoimmune, and start fresh. Sometimes when a doctor has diagnosed you, they don't want to take a second look- it means he/she would have to admit to being wrong.
