Well, another day is here to help my mother recover from the massive annie she had last year. Its a daily task to help her stay motivated and WANT to recover. She does not know she is getting better and often has crying fits of frustration when the words just arent coming through. She has a terrible attitude some days and also complete denial on other days. She has always been in control of things and now she cannot because she cannot be left alone nor does she remember how to do things she used to and refuses most times to be shown. Its beyond hard and I have to try and remember not to take it personal even when she says she hates me.

This horrible bleeding stroke has changed my whole family, each in a different way. We are all so glad she is here but then so sad she is in the shape she is. No one knows how long or if she will ever get better than she is right now. It has made us value our family much greater than before as we have had to rely on each other to make it through the painful times.It has opened the eyes of all involved of how precious life is and especially the magificent, wonderful, and so complicated brain we all have. Really, some times have been morbidly fascinating how everything works in there and why it doesnt work.Whats the next therapy that could make a difference? There are abounding facts, philosphy and tremendous unknowns on the subject.Brain malfunctions are as varied as eye color and personal perceptions.Beyond a doubt in my mind, anyone who has experienced or had a loved one with experience of a brain injury, no matter what the cause, will be changed forever.
