I actually gained weight but largely a result of prednisone. Nausea and appetite have been biggest problems that needed alleviating, I was underweight for years prior to treatment for Crohn's. If your wife can notice the improvement in you ask her if you can try to see if edibles work better. Ask her if she notices the improvements from those and allow her to decide with you which medicine is most helpful.

Read your summary, hope you feel better soon and can resume activities you enjoy. I am having similar problems that you mentioned with regard to Remicade... except I take Humira. Headaches & Dry skin too (and a few oddball effects) .... Hang in there!

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
My Ulcerative Colitis began 2000 years ago but was only diagnosed correctly as of 1/6/09 (yeah happy new year). Lost 50 lbs in 1 month. Alot for a person weighing 185. Hospitalized 2 months. I am still recovering from this recent flare up, wich is the worst i have had. It has never been debilitating until now. I have taken many of the medications out there. I used to love playing basketball until my weight loss and muscle loss. I will be strong enough to do it again. I will, I will, I will!
Treatments
- Asacol Not Working
- Very Adverse reaction. Extreme nausea with vomiting, fever, increase in blood, increase in stools, decrease in appetite, obvious loss sleep. May work for others but not for me!
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Too Soon to Tell
- Colazal Not Working
- Very Adverse reaction. Extreme nausea with vomiting, fever, increase in blood, increase in stools, decrease in appetite, obvious loss sleep. May work for others but not for me!
- Dietary Modification Too Soon to Tell
- Flagyl Working / Worked
- Lialda Not Working
- Very Adverse reaction. Extreme nausea with vomiting, fever, increase in blood, increase in stools, decrease in appetite, obvious loss sleep. May work for others but not for me!
- Medrol Working / Worked
- Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
- Helped symptoms somewhat.
- Probiotics Working / Worked
- Remicade Considering
- Taking Remicade (seems to be working). However i just discovered that your immune system is also for regenerating cells, and not just for fighting disease. This could explain my problems with dry skin, white hairs, headaches. Still investigating this possibility. If you have similar symptoms please contact me.
- Marinol Working / Worked
- Marinol makes me hungry eliminates pain NO nausea enhances my mood I am told it reduces inflamation in my large intestine. I do get headaches if i havent taken it.
