Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis

I am a 20 year old college student who was born with UC. I still have not figured out how to manage the pain and the bowel urgency/frequency. I don't know anyone my age who has UC and want people with whom I can relate.

Treatments

Asacol Not Working

I took this as a child and had red stools. We couldn't tell if it was blood or not because it was brighter than blood. I stopped taking it anyway because it wasn't working.

Azathioprine Somewhat Helpful

I have been taking this for most of my life and it helps a little.

Azulfidine Somewhat Helpful

I don't really remember what happened but I stopped taking this when I was a child. I think it gave me the same effect as Asacol.

Colazal Not Working

Gave me BAD diarrhea.

Flagyl Working / Worked

It works until I'm not taking it anymore and then the symptoms come back.

Prednisone Working / Worked

My face got really big and since my doctors left me on this supposed to be short term drug for 15 years, I now have the beginnings of Osteoporosis.
