Thanks would appreciate the information, already talked with Hep Doc and they will not cut on me for same reason. My counts are always in the tank, when my PCP saw my liver panel he was ready to send me back to hospital for extremely low platelets and white blood cell count. Told him this was normal for me.

      Types: Liver

Diagnosed with severe liver disease in June 2008 at the age of 33. Received a liver transplant Christmas Day, 2008...

      Treatments

      Cellcept Working / Worked
I've been on Cellcept since the transplant and I'm starting to notice side-effects that I've read may possibly be associated with Cellcept usage; severe joint/muscle pain, hair loss, fatigue...I can not conclusively say these are due to the Cellcept and I will be seeking the help of a Rhuematologist soon to see what he has to say.
      Cyclosporine Working / Worked
I switched to this medicine from Prograf, which my transplant doctors believed was the cause of my 50 days straight 24/7 Migraine headache. So far, the headaches have continued but, to a lesser intensity (usually) and they are no longer 24/7 in length.
      Prograf Working / Worked
Prograf was working just fine, however, my body wasn't enjoying it as I developed migraine headaches that honestly were 24/7 throbbing for about 50 days straight. I have since switched to Cyclosporine.
      Valcyte Working / Worked

      Liver Transplant Working / Worked
      Received a liver transplant Dec. 25th, 2008.
    • Open Chronic Pain

      Treatments

      Heat Somewhat Helpful
Heat provides very minor, short-term relief on joints.
      Duragesic Patch Working / Worked
The Fentanyl patch provided great continuous pain relief and it comes with an added benefit of 72hour applications. Started on a 100mcg patch decreased incrementally 75 50 and then 25mcg strength. No noticeable side effects at all.
      Hydromorphone Working / Worked
Originally prescribed during my time with liver disease to treat the overwhelming pain of an overworked failing gallbladder and frequent gallstones. While hospitalized injections of 2mg every 4 hours provided outstanding breakthrough pain relief. Also took 2mg oral tablets offset by 2 hrs from intravenous injections for balanced pain relief. The combination of the two after liver transplant surgery was very effective in providing pain relief. Currently still taking 2mg pills orally.
